Dramatic scenes on Saturday afternoon in the city of Vienna: around 11.30 a.m., a Fiaker driver (49) suddenly tore the harness of his vehicle, his horses went through. When trying to get to safety at the last second, two passers-by fell, including a woman from Vienna (58), who sustained injuries.
The Fiaker team, which got out of control, then crashed into another carriage on Stephansplatz, whereupon the horses harnessed there ran away without a leader. Only a courageous eyewitness was able to grab the animals by the bridle and bring them to a standstill.
All four Fiaker horses involved were slightly injured, according to the police.
