Killed by truck during training: mourning for former professional cyclist rebel

Among other things, Rebellin won the classics Amstel Gold Race, Fleche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège in 2004. In 1996 he was the winner of a stage at the Giro d’Italia. He had to give back his Olympic silver medal, which he had won in the 2008 Beijing Olympics road race. In late April 2009, he was found out as a doping offender during follow-up checks.
