“City Council Hacker is counted”, “Hacker unbearable”, “City Council Hacker is ready for resignation!” – on Twitter everyone agrees: with his Corona mascot, the “funny” syringe man (“Vienna advertises with syringe men: giants – Vortex about calls for violence against the unvaccinated”), Vienna’s City Councilor for Health Peter Hacker (SPÖ) has finally gone overboard. The icing on the cake after the doctors’ uprising (eXXpress reported) and mega chaos in Vienna’s hospitals.
This is also the opinion of the health spokeswoman for the Vienna People’s Party, municipal councilor Ingrid Korosec, who is now also massively criticizing the Vienna Health City Council. “The survey of clinicians that has produced startling results, as well as the admonishing words of the patient advocate, must finally lead to concrete action. The health system in Vienna is on the brink, but the responsible city council remains largely inactive,” Korosec raises the alarm.
For example, patient advocate Gerhard Jelinek found that there was an emergency in Vienna. The measures he articulated – such as better pay to offer incentives to stay in the system – are good approaches that should also be taken seriously by city council hackers.
“Serious bottlenecks in care or enormous waiting times in the outpatient clinics lead to dramatic consequences for the patients. These must be averted with concrete measures. City councilor Hacker must finally take action!” demands Ingrid Korosec.
