Winter is approaching and so is the ski season. However, it remains to be seen how many visitors Austria’s ski hotspots can look forward to this year in view of the inflation. A day’s skiing costs up to 560 euros in view of the inflation, according to an analysis by HelloFresh. In addition to clear differences in accommodation costs, it is often the meals that cause price differences of more than 300 euros in some cases.
In a comparison of the numerous options, the Heiligenblut-Grossglockner ski area (Carinthia) comes off best. A day there costs an average of 250.69 euros. Above all, the accommodation and catering on the slopes contribute to the price hit.
A day of skiing in the Lech Zürs am Arlberg region (Vorarlberg) costs more than double: ski fans have to pay 559.91 (!) euros. The main reason for this is the expensive accommodation and food, says the analysis. At 366.17 euros, the popular Salzburg ski area of Flachau is right in the middle.
