Visitors to the special show “” will find answers to these and many other questions at the premiere of “Bauen+Wohnen” Vienna from November 10th to 13th, 2022 at the Messe Wien. This autumn premiere is the only major event for the construction, energy, living and furnishing sectors in eastern Austria. The focus of the four days of the fair: the currently hot topics of energy saving, renewable energies and blackout.

Thomas Gernbauer, the organizer of the special show “”, the possibility of being self-sufficient in a crisis situation is of the greatest importance: “Everyone should prepare themselves to be self-sufficient for at least 10 to 14 days to be able to.” Not only solutions for single-family houses will be presented, but also many innovative ideas for city apartments, whose residents are generally less able to protect themselves against the consequences of a blackout.

We have hired experts who will advise our prospects extensively, including a law firm with specialist knowledge of renewable energy communities,” explains Gernbauer, “and we also offer a job board for people who see their future in this exciting field.” In addition, there will be a lecture area on relevant topics in the special show “”.

According to Manfred Peritsch, Managing Director of Herbios Vertical Gardens GmbH, a positive side effect of this activity is: “In the cold season, the plants benefit from the waste heat from the buildings, in summer they cool the outside areas and provide pleasant shade. With the option of automated irrigation, an easy-care organic garden including sun and privacy protection is created, in short an oasis of well-being for 365 days a year.”

The stage program of “Bauen+Wohnen” Vienna is based on the trend topics of the year. The focus here is clearly on innovative energy solutions, sustainable heating alternatives, the construction trends of the future and the important topics of self-sufficiency and blackout precautions.
