Erling Haaland has hit the ground running at Manchester City. The Norwegian has scored 17 goals in eleven competitive games for the Citizens. So it’s no wonder that City are considering a hefty salary increase for the star striker. This is reported by the English newspaper “Daily Star”. Just three months ago, Erling Haaland was signed by Borussia Dortmund for 60 million euros. The Norwegian goal machine currently has a contract until 2027.
Nevertheless, Haaland should now get more money. This step is not unusual, especially since Manchester City generally rewards players with early contract extensions after strong performances. This is also intended to discourage the competition. Ederson, Aymeric Laporte, Bernardo Silva and Ruben Dias have already extended their contracts this year.
Haaland can most likely look forward to a new mega contract. The ex-Salzburger already earns 430,000 euros per week. That would be 22.4 million euros per year. If the Norwegian maintains his goal tally, he too should expect an improved offer. Haaland is repeatedly associated with Real Madrid. Media reports that the royals want to sign the city striker in two years. An exit clause will take effect from 2024 – but Real would have to put 150 million euros on the table.
