Almost three months ago, the Austrian national team drew 1-1 against world champions France. Ralf Rangnick’s team is now taking on the French star ensemble away from home. In France, the ÖFB team boss uses a 4-4-2 system with a diamond in midfield. Patrick Pentz starts in goal.
Christopher Trimmel will act as right-back. The central defenders are David Alaba and Philipp Lienhart. Maximilian Wöber is allowed to play on the left in the back four. Schlager and Seiwald will form the center in midfield, Sabitzer and Weimann will occupy the half positions.
Up front in attack are Marko Arnautovic and Karim Onisiwo. Arnautovic will play his 103rd international match and equal Andreas Herzog’s record. Freiburg legionnaire Michael Gregoritsch takes a seat on the bench for the time being. Kylian Mbappe will play for the French from the start. He is supported in attack by Antoine Griezmann and Olivier Giroud.
