There were only four lists left! Rapid is looking for a successor to resigned President Martin Bruckner. Originally six applications were submitted. The six-member election committee convened a meeting on Tuesday. It was decided that four of the six applications “meet both the formal and the content requirements”. The association announced this in a broadcast on Wednesday. However, two applications did not meet the requirements and are therefore out of the running.
The four remaining applicants must now prepare their concepts and present them at a personal hearing by the beginning of October. It was agreed not to disclose the four lists. There is currently no election date. November seems realistic. However, a date in late October could possibly be possible.
According to information from the Austria Press Agency (APA), two lists are to be favored in the race to succeed Martin Bruckner and his team. On the one hand, those around the former long-term captain Steffen Hofmann and entrepreneur Michael Tojner, at the head of which ex-ORF general director Alexander Wrabetz would be available as president, plus the group of presidency member Stefan Singer.
