While other providers have continued to raise the prices for fast electric car charging in recent months and are gradually approaching the mark of 1 euro per kilowatt hour, Tesla has so far remained silent. Now the group of tech guru Elon Musk (51), whose fortune is estimated at $ 273 billion, is following suit.
Now e-car drivers are also getting into their wallets: Tesla is significantly increasing the electricity prices at its charging stations. Since Monday, the new price at supercharger stations has been between 69-71 cents per kilowatt hour – that’s up to 23 percent more than before. This means that the electricity costs more with the Supercharger than with other regional electricity providers. The difference to the cost of filling up a non-electric car is thus becoming smaller and smaller.
