Attractive opportunities through European cultural initiatives, future perspectives through the promotion and realization of high-quality film and entertainment projects, respect and fair play in youth sports as well as international commitment against drug abuse: Klemens Hallmann, one of the leading local entrepreneurs, real estate developers and investors, has been involved since more than a decade on numerous fronts for art and culture, sport and society.
The successful Viennese construction tycoon has now been honored for his many years of commitment in this area. On behalf of Federal President Van der Bellen, Section Head Jürgen Meindl from the Federal Ministry for Art, Culture, Public Service and Sport presented the Grand Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic: “The Republic of Austria would like to sincerely thank Klemens Hallmann with this award. His economic and artistic commitment stands for a radical improvement in the lives of many people,” said Section Head Meindl when handing over the decree and insignia to Klemens Hallmann.
Prof. Dr. Klaus Albrecht Schröder, host of the Albertina, underlined in his laudatory speech the importance of promoting art and culture, especially in these times: “Today’s honor recognizes what Klemens Hallmann has done unselfishly for the general public and society and is at the same time an incentive for future ones Services.”
Klemens Hallmann on his motives: “Art and culture are a mirror of the world and important for people and society. Art connects and can lead a dialogue across all borders. I therefore see it as my responsibility to promote these areas wherever possible and also to support them in an advisory or creative manner. Youth promotion, climate protection, social issues, commitment to a culture of responsibility in Europe are just like art, issues that are closely intertwined and form an essential part of my life. I find that in order to move forward as a society, it is not only important to constantly reflect on ourselves. But it is also our job to give back, wherever we can.”
As the main partner and presenter of the most important European cultural prize TAURUS, Hallmann underlines his commitment to the further development of the European cultural landscape. In addition, the film production company Hallmann Entertainment Company together with Filmhouse Germany and its subsidiaries and other participations in the film sector have won a total of around 70 awards for film productions and their actors in the past ten years alone.
In addition, the investor and entrepreneur places particular emphasis on working with young people. The “UNODC Youth Initiative” supported by the UN is pleased about regular funding and active support from Hallmann with the aim of giving young people a strong voice. In the sports sector, Hallmann acts as the main sponsor and supporter of various youth and student teams in basketball, football and other sports. The currently around 1,000 young people are taught the game, but also mutual respect, fair play and team spirit.
