There are horror images circulating on the net. In the bay of Sahl Hasheesh near Hurghada, a pensioner from Tyrol goes into the sea. There she is attacked by a shark. The animal is said to have bitten off an arm and a leg of the woman.
An absolute shock for the other bathers too. One unsuccessfully throws a rope into the water to save him. Russian tourists shout excitedly: “Where are the lifeguards? Shit, she’s covered in blood. Holy shit! She’s going to die, dammit!”
“She no longer has an arm – up to the elbow. The shark grabbed her and turned her around.”
Tragic: The Austrian, who was married to an Egyptian and regularly visited the bay, made it to the shore! There she died a few minutes later, according to reports, of a heart attack in an ambulance on the way to the clinic.
Authorities closed the surrounding beaches for three days after the incident. Sahl Hasheesh is considered an insider tip for vacationers. A promenade with shops and restaurants several kilometers long runs parallel to the beach.
