The Slovak ice hockey sport mourns Richard Had. The ice hockey player died after a car accident at the age of 22. The car accident happened in a small municipality in northern Slovakia (Obec Kraľovany). “For reasons that are still unclear, he drove in the opposite direction, where he collided with an oncoming truck with a trailer,” said spokesman for the police in Zilina Radko Moravčík.
The alcohol test found no alcohol in the blood of the truck driver, and an autopsy was ordered for the ice hockey player. “The further circumstances are still under investigation,” added the spokesman.
His former club MHK Dolny Kubin mourned the ice hockey player. “Richard, may you rest in peace. Our sympathy now goes to the relatives,” the association wrote on social media. Had was born in Dolny Kubin, where he also started his ice hockey career. Later he also played in the junior teams of Liptovský Mikulas and Trnava. Two years ago he ended his career prematurely.
