The owner lived in the car with his cats after losing his apartment. He didn’t want to leave his animals alone, so he took them all with him. “With the heat, he then realized that he was completely overwhelmed,” says a police officer. The animals were handed over to an animal protection organization.
The heat in June, the humidity. No home, no air conditioning. And above all: no litter box. The good news: The animals, aged between one and 12 years, are all doing well and only had minor injuries. They will soon be given to new owners.
