Minister Oleksiy Reznikov’s nerves are apparently already on edge: “After talks with French and German politicians, I let myself go in a small circle – regardless of the choice of words. I have to let off steam.” EU nations’ politicians “just don’t want” Ukraine to get the weapons it needs any faster.
Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov in a recent interview: “I understand, fatigue is a natural reaction to stress. And politicians have their own concerns, they have to think of their own nations, of their own problems. But you also have to think about the consequences of your actions.”
For example, not a single anti-aircraft tank has been delivered to Ukraine from Germany, nor have the anti-tank howitzers promised to Kyiv in 2000. Even allegedly promised armored personnel carriers are not yet on the transport route. In view of the otherwise well-known German ability to organize, a political will should actually delay the arms deliveries.
At the same time, long freight trains carrying Russian T-80 and T-90 battle tanks and self-propelled howitzers from eastern Russia are rolling west every day to the 2,450-kilometer-long front, along which 1,105 kilometers of fighting are constantly taking place.
