Sebastian Vettel is not being pursued by luck at the moment. First, he missed the points at the race in Barcelona with eleventh place. According to information from “Bild”, his bag was stolen the day after the race. The Aston Martin driver then became a detective and went in search of the criminals himself. In doing so, he showed that it is not for nothing that he is nicknamed “Inspector Seb” in the premier class of motorsport.
The German media reports that Vettel’s bag was stolen on Monday morning. Vettel parked his car in front of his hotel when the strangers suddenly reached through the open window and took the bag out of the car. The Formula 1 star remained unharmed. However, the thieves did not know that the bag also contained Vettel’s AirPods, i.e. headphones that can be located via GPS. This enabled Vettel to use his cell phone to track down the criminals.
Vettel quick-wittedly rented an e-scooter via an app to follow suit. However, the winding streets in the downtown district of El Raval didn’t necessarily make the hunt for the thieves any easier. The Formula 1 driver ambushed the thieves. But they apparently suspected that Vettel was on their trail and threw away the AirPods. Then they got up and left with the bag.
The “Bild” also reports that in addition to the AirPods, Vettel’s wallet was also in the bag. For a moment, the former world champion was afraid that the access pass for the driver’s area was also in his pocket. But he was still in the hotel.
