After a delay caused by Corona, the new Minister of Agriculture, Norbert Totschnig, is now in office. Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen sworn in the 47-year-old farmer’s coordinator from East Tyrol on Wednesday in the President’s Office. “I’m glad you’re recovered,” said Van der Bellen. He saw the climate crisis and the consequences of the war in Ukraine as challenges for Totschnig.
In the presence of Chancellor Nehammer and Vice-Chancellor Werner Kogler (Greens), Totschnig spoke the words “I vow” and sealed his new office with his signature.
