Putin’s commanders slaughter their own wounded soldiers instead of taking them off the battlefield for medical treatment. This is revealed by Russian soldiers who are currently in Ukrainian captivity.
A lieutenant colonel is accused of personally shooting dead several soldiers while they lay injured. The commander is said to have asked a soldier if he could walk again after being injured. When the man said no, the officer killed him on the spot.
The harrowing report comes from young Russian intelligence soldiers who were captured by the Ukrainians. “Just like that… a wounded soldier is lying on the ground and a battalion commander shoots him with a rifle,” reports one. The soldiers have their say in a video clip by Ukrainian journalist Volodymyr Zolkin, who reported on Russian prisoners for Open Media Ukraine.
Another soldier in the video says: “The most important thing is that this was not an isolated case.” The lieutenant colonel shot four or five soldiers, reports a third soldier. “They were all young men,” says the second. The third adds: “They could have been saved, they could have been helped, they could have been taken out of there. He just shot her.”
It was not clear from the video where in Ukraine the alleged shooting at wounded soldiers by their commander took place. The video was made as Ukraine accused Russia of not taking back its dead. Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Ostorozhno Media that the Kremlin has “no information” about the bodies of the dead soldiers or the wounded in Ukraine.
