The fact that the vaccination centers in Germany are kept open, although the “customers” are absent, is constantly criticized – most recently, for example, the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians called for the centers to be closed. The operation causes immense costs for the taxpayer, which again reduces the claim of the “free” vaccination ad absurdum. In the “Bild“The costs were offset against the vaccinations administered: A vaccination in the Berlin vaccination center in the International Congress Center (ICC) currently costs around 1,427 euros.
For comparison: According to “Bild”, a vaccination shot at the family doctor currently costs around 28 euros.
The Berlin Senate decides that the vaccination center, which costs 5.71 million euros a month, must remain open in order to “be able to react quickly to mutations”. The vaccination capacities of general practitioners and pharmacists are not only completely sufficient given the current minimal demand, they could also be increased if many citizens are urged to be vaccinated again. After all, vaccinations are easy money. And private providers are also able to open a number of vaccination centers within a very short time, which do not incur any costs when they are idle.
