Finally: Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen will receive Totschnig in the Hofburg on Wednesday, appoint and swear in Federal Minister for Agriculture, Regions and Tourism, the President’s Office announced.
This means that the presentation in the National Council is just about over. Chancellor Karl Nehammer (ÖVP) and Vice-Chancellor Werner Kogler (Greens) will make statements on the government reshuffle in the parliamentary session that will take place immediately afterwards.
After his recovery, the Tyrolean Farmers’ Union director Norbert Totschnig succeeds Elisabeth Köstinger, who resigned shortly before the ÖVP party congress. He becomes Federal Minister for Agriculture, Regions and Tourism.
A week ago, the new “Super Minister” Martin Kocher (Economy and Labour), Susanne Kraus-Winkler as the new Secretary of State for Tourism in the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Florian Tursky as Secretary of State for Digitization and Broadband in the Ministry of Finance were sworn in by Federal President Van der Bellen.
