First come, first buy – unless the deal is on hold, then a third party will be happy via Twitter! The train of thought of MMA fighter and UFC star Conor McGregor (33) could have been something like this when the wrestler announced on Twitter over the weekend that he wanted to buy the short message service. Wait, isn’t Twitter already sold – to Elon Musk? Not quite apparently, because after the Tesla and SpaceX boss blew up the internet with the news about his takeover of the social media service, it was announced last week that the deal was temporarily on hold (eXXpress reported).
McGregor apparently wants to use this moment to choose himself as the next Twitter boss. Or was that just a joke?
McGregor is not (yet) a billionaire – even though he himself claimed to be one earlier this year and estimates from sports experts will soon become one: “McGregor will be a billionaire this year, making $235 million in fights and a 600 -Million dollar deal [aus] deserves the ring. McGregor makes a lot of money from fighting. A study by OLBG found that he makes over $8 million a minute in the octagon,” he said,” said sports entrepreneur Andrew Petcash recently.
So it will be a while before Conor McGregor can compete with Elon Musk, who is considered the richest man in the world – but when it comes to big announcements on Twitter, he is already getting closer to the Tesla boss.
