In his current commentary, entrepreneur and political blogger Gerald Markel points out the huge gap between the “reality” rumored by the system media and actual reality. Many people have not yet realized what catastrophic effects the inflation wave will have. The current problems are just the tip of the iceberg. For Markel, one thing is certain: the population must finally act and increase the pressure on the government to stop prices and get out of the harmful sanctions. Otherwise it will be too late.

Desire and reality: A glimpse into the future
Good morning everyone. Thanks to the industrious Klagenfurt garbage disposal and street cleaning, which loudly keeps the city center clean at 4:30 a.m., I scroll through the news and news shows of the world in search of inspiration for today’s blog – the World Wide Web is somehow awesome. And what particularly catches my eye today, is this ever-widening gulf, is these two worlds drifting further and further apart, is this gigantic difference between desire (the published world of the system) and reality (the real world of ordinary people).
First example: Ukraine.
Germany, Austria, USA, England – no matter what medium, no matter what discussion, no matter which politician – the system babbles and fantasizes about a victory for Ukraine, the determination of Europe and civil society, and the lack of alternatives to the measures. Millions of cubic meters of hot air are produced and have NOTHING to do with reality.
Reality in a nutshell? Ukraine is/is being divided, Crimea, Donbass and the Kherson region in between is and will remain Russian, economic sanctions have united the rest of the world against the US, Putin is more popular with Russians than ever, the ruble is stronger than ever, the Russians fuck the wacky westerners for their Russophobia, and Europe’s prosperity has been wiped out in the biggest knee-shot ever.
Why is this happening? Because the people in the war zone see the Russians as LIBERATORS, the regions WANT to no longer belong to Ukraine, the sanctions have shown the rest of the world that we westerners cannot be trusted and we break our own rules and our word at any time if we do politically fits in and because the war has swept away the last thin layer over our rotten system and we will now pay for the mistakes of the last decade with general impoverishment.
What you are led to believe in the illusory world of the system no longer has anything to do with reality.
Second example: Covid, mask and vaccination
The desire of the system is crystal clear – Covid was the chance of the century to establish a totalitarian, all-powerful state that wanted and was able to determine the life and behavior of people as subjects down to the smallest detail.
And that’s over. I know that many, very many of my readers are much more pessimistic than I am and paint all sorts of nightmare scenarios for autumn on the wall – but on my side of the ditch, too, desire (or nightmare) and reality are becoming ever wider apart.
There will be no enforcement of mandatory vaccinations against Covid, neither in general in Austria nor in sectors outside the health systems (where honestly there have always been de facto or legal vaccination requirements).
The mRNA experiment failed disastrouslythe reality in hospitals and medical practices can be denied or downplayed less and less by the system, the damage caused by vaccination is increasing common knowledge and in the end a third will get vaccinated against Covid every year and the rest of the world will just go back to normal. Basta.
slot – I rather fear that the crisis tsunami will be used to simply bury the 2020-2022 scandal era, so that all those responsible get away without consequences and the system continues with other topics (climate hysteria) as if Covid had never happened! THIS is my fear of the coming months.
And if you don’t believe me, you should go somewhere abroad where you live as if Covid never existed. Or simply – like me – put it to the test every day in the center of the European Covid hysteria and ignore the remaining rules. There are no more consequences, Covid, vaccination and the obedience scraps are NO MORE THEME. Just try.
Third example: inflation and the tsunami
Unfortunately, I have to conclude that desire and reality diverge in a negative sense. Unfortunately, what is rumored in the media and above all what has arrived in people’s minds has nothing to do with reality.
Because of my job and the information and interests, I am much, much more pessimistic than I can see in the people around me. I have the feeling that after two years of Covid stress and now the war on the edge of Europe, people are unaware of a new crisis and want and will suppress reality for as long as possible.
Enjoying warm weather, catching up on celebrations, storming guest gardens, taking short vacations and if possible not talking about worries – I’m experiencing that everywhere at the moment. Only entrepreneurs, without exception, walk through life with deep worry lines, where the tsunami wave has already hit, the water level is already dangerously high there.
And above all, we entrepreneurs know that the current problems are just the beginning. Suddenly hard-core capitalists, out of deep concern for our society as a whole, become passionate advocates of state intervention and market controls. Suddenly there was a call for government measures to regulate the markets and secure certain basic needs.
I say it frankly – every day that Austria does not follow the example of Hungary and Orban brings us closer to the abyss. Price freeze MUST, exit from all sanctions against Russia MUST, solidarity with Ukraine goes WAY TOO FAR, ALL MEASURES of the insane end-time sect to further price increases in the name of climate hysteria MUST GO and Austria MUST swear to solidarity IMMEDIATELY and the lower half of income IMMEDIATELY provide relief!
I’ll say it frankly and I’m reluctant to disturb the long-awaited peace and the joy of halfway normalcy – but if we remain inactive as a society and above all if we don’t force the idiots who still rule us to act soon through mass protests, then it will be too late.
And if you want to know what’s in store for us, look at pictures from Sri Lanka online. This can get through to us faster than anyone thinks.
The desire for a little peace and joy could very quickly be overtaken and destroyed by reality.
Stay strong, stay tuned. We read each other.
