On the night of Sunday, news of another terrible war crime by Putin’s army reached the West: a school in the Luhansk region in eastern Ukraine was the victim of an air raid, the bombardment completely razed the educational building and caused countless deaths and injuries ( the eXXpress reported).
The Ukrainian authorities are currently talking about up to 60 deaths. As the governor of the region, Serhiy Hajdaj, announced on his Telegram channel on Sunday, only two bodies have been recovered after the airstrike on the school in Bilogorivka – several more are missing with little hope of survival. “It is likely that all 60 people still under the rubble of the building are dead,” he added.
According to Hajdaj, the air raid is said to have happened on Saturday afternoon. The school building served as a place of refuge for many people – 90 people are said to have sought shelter there from attacks by the Russian army. The bombing caused a fire in the school and the building collapsed. The emergency services were able to save 30 people – 7 of them were injured, according to the governor.
