Russian President Putin has signed a decree on economic retaliation. A spokesman for the Kremlin in Moscow announced that the provisions were to be understood as a reaction to – so literally – “unfriendly actions by certain foreign states and international organizations”. According to the decree, Russia will ban the export of products and raw materials to sanctioned persons, organizations and countries.
Financial transactions with foreign companies are also prohibited. Russia itself will be able to no longer have to comply with contractual obligations, it said. Further details were not given for the time being. According to the information, the government now has ten days to create a list of sanctions with the names of affected people and companies.
