SPORTUNION will host Wings for Life Run on Sunday May 8th. Numerous sports clubs from all over Austria take part in this event. In addition, participants from over 120 nations are expected. Start time will be at 13.00 (Central European Time). Thousands of people run in support of spinal cord research for a good cause. After a two-year Corona break, a flagship run will take place again in Vienna. Participation in an app run event and an individual app run is also possible. Around 50 SPORTUNION clubs will be there as teams from Lake Neusiedl to Lake Constance, including SPORTUNION Nikolsdorf, SPORTUNION Tulln, SPORTUNION Ostermiething, SPORTUNION Tri Styria, Kick-Box UNION Hallein and SPORTUNION St. Veit , the SCHWIMM-UNION Burgenland and the SPORTUNION Puchkirchen.
“Next Sunday we want to encourage as many people as possible to take part in our team challenge at the Wings for Life World Run 2022 as part of our #sportverbindet initiative. The global charity run thus becomes a joint club experience and strengthens togetherness. Together with participants from over 120 nations, we not only support the healing of paraplegia, but also send a strong signal for the connection between peoples and for worldwide peace,” says SPORTUNION President Peter McDonald. The anticipation is great, especially since the running event can take place again in full for the first time after the corona restrictions in the last two years of the pandemic.
“UNION” or “SPORTUNION” must be included in the team name to participate in the challenge. In addition, the team needs at least 15 people (regardless of whether they are club members or not) to take part in the raffle for an exclusive Sports Club Day in cooperation with Red Bull. Among other things, the prize includes a tour of one of the most modern youth sports academies in the world, where future football and ice hockey professionals are trained.
