There was a serious bus accident in Vienna-Penzing at 8 a.m. Seven people were injured when the Vienna bus crashed into a tree, two of them seriously. According to initial information, four of the five slightly injured are said to be children. The emergency services are on site, even a helicopter is in use.
The accident site, Ulmenstraße in the 14th district, is a relatively steep street. The driver of the 52B bus is said to have lost control and “continued to drive straight ahead in a sharp curve,” said Christian Feiler, spokesman for the Vienna professional fire brigade, to the APA. The vehicle crashed into a tree and also a transformer station with 10,000 volts. According to Feiler, the transformer house was badly damaged, and parts of it were pushed against a MA 48 truck that was just driving there.
