After various threats of the use of nuclear weapons and the apocalypse, an increase in the insanity in the Russian state leadership was hardly to be expected. Vladimir Putin’s foreign minister managed to do it anyway: Sergei Lavrov actually claimed in an interview that “some of the worst anti-Semites were themselves Jews”.
Lavrov went even further in this line of reasoning why Moscow is waging a “war of denazification” against Ukraine and a Jewish Ukrainian president: “So what, then Zelenskyy is a Jew. This is irrelevant to the fact that there are Nazi elements in Ukraine.” And: “I believe that Hitler also had Jewish blood. Some of the worst anti-Semites were Jews.”
