Difficult hours for Boris Becker’s (54) family. After the hammer sentence of 2.5 years in prison on Friday afternoon at Southwark Crown Court in London (eXXpress reported), nothing is the same for the tennis legend’s family. In an interview with RTL, Boris’ wife Lilly Becker (45) admits that their son Amadeus (12) doesn’t even know that his dad is in prison. And that it will be particularly hard for him, because: Boris is Amadeus’ absolute hero! Lilly comments: “Just yesterday Amadeus said to me, ‘Mom, Dad is the best dad in the world.’ I asked why? He said, ‘Because he’s always there for me.’”
And for Becker’s two first sons from his marriage to Barbara Becker (55), Elias (22) and Noah (28), the conviction of their father is a heavy blow. The news hit Elvira Becker (86) particularly hard. The mother of the three-time Wimbledon champion lives alone and learned about her son’s prison sentence from the radio. According to friends, she had a breakdown shortly after. “She’s crying, desperate. The worry of losing her house no longer matters. Now she’s just afraid that she’ll never see her Boris again – at her age you never know what might happen.”
