For this purpose, the Ministry of Industry and Trade in Moscow has published a list, which was available to the Russian “Isvestia”: trademark protection is to be guaranteed for around 200 articles and at the same time people are to be offered the bare essentials. Whereby the “essentials” are definitely aimed at potent groups of buyers at home: from Apple and Bentley to perfumes and furs, cars like Jaguar and Tesla are also included.
After the approval of this list by the Ministry of Justice, industrial plants from Siemens, car tires, sensors, construction machinery, and electronic items should also be able to be imported again via specialized agencies and intermediaries who are friends of ours. In Germany, parallel imports of medicines, for example, are not only permitted by law, but are even subsidized by the state – in some countries they are used to avoid price differences for certain products.
The agencies now face the threat of sanctions from the United States or the European Union. Above all, the supply of spare parts is currently one of the biggest problems in the Russian economy, and the development of new logistics chains has only just begun. According to Izvestia, experts expect that parallel imports will not start for another two to three months.
This means that “parallel imports” such as “ring exchange” for tanks are among the terms from the economic dictionary that will probably find their way into the general public in 2022. Spoiled Russian women, who only recently wept for the loss of their life of luxury or insulted designer brands, can breathe a sigh of relief.
