Payment in rubles: Chancellor defends himself against fake news from the Kremlin

After Russia’s state propaganda announced that Austria was now making a change in its gas policy and that Russian gas would in future be paid for in rubles, Chancellor Karl Nehammer (ÖVP) spoke up. He vehemently denies the reports and speaks of “Russian Fake News”. Austria will continue to pay for gas in euros, the chancellor assures.
