Ernst August von Hannover (68) can’t get rid of his more than battered image: Today, Tuesday, the aristocrat, notorious as the “scandal prince”, had to answer to his own lawyer in Salzburg of all people. Because Ernst August apparently still owes his lawyer a lot of money.
The lawyer repeatedly provided legal assistance to the prince from 2016 to 2021. After the arrest of the prince as a result of the scandalous beating affair in 2020, there was a lot for the lawyer to do, but he also helped Ernst August in a dispute over a family property or in the establishment of complicated foundations and companies. He just wasn’t paid. A sum of 74,000 euros was disputed – this was a lump sum agreed by a notary. In the case of an individual billing, the amount would “certainly be twice as high”, revealed the plaintiff lawyer to the “Krone”.
After an emotional process, the judge was able to persuade the parties to reach a settlement. For a payment of 50,000 euros by November 2022, the claims have now been settled and the dispute settled.
