The successful eccentric with big dreams has never made a secret of the fact that his tireless mission to acquire Twitter was not just driven by business concerns. The Tesla and SpaceX boss also seems to have a higher goal in mind – and this time it’s not extraterrestrial like colonizing Mars. No, Musk is about the fight for freedom of expression and the fight against censorship!
The initial, massive resistance that Musk’s takeover plans faced, as well as the violent reaction of many Twitter users, who outraged by Musk’s “hostile takeover” (sic) see the demise of their virtual playground – Musk sees all of this as proof of this that he was doing something right: “The extreme antibody response from those who fear freedom of expression says it all,” Musk tweeted late Tuesday evening Central European Time, clearly referring to the narrative he had in the days before had set up.
