Everyone who got to know him describes him as a “walking encyclopedia”, but above all as a “funny and nice guy”. Frauneder was on the road with the ski circus for years, but was at home on all sports fields and racetracks. Last fall he published his book “Sportidole up close”. He leaves his wife and 17-year-old son with his motto: to live and laugh in and for the moment and to love what we do.
Frauneder passed on his enthusiasm for the sport to his son. The “Krone” commemorates the sports journalist with an anecdote. On his fourth birthday, his son asked him if he could join a soccer club now. Because then he no longer has to go to kindergarten. The young talent plays in Schwechat (Lower Austria).
