Opposition parties in Vorarlberg are expressing their distrust with a motion against LH Markus Wallner. However, it cannot be assumed that it will be approved, since the ÖVP represents 17 of the 36 MPs and two thirds of the MPs would have to agree.
The first special state day in the history of Vorarlberg is scheduled for Monday. In this there will be sharp arguments about the processes around the economic association. The meeting was convened after eleven mandates from the FPÖ, SPÖ and NEOS requested it. The motion of no confidence against Wallner will probably not be on the agenda.
The opposition parties called for LH Wallner’s resignation on Friday. On Saturday morning they announced that they would table a corresponding motion of no confidence on Monday. An urgent appeal was made to the Greens. As government partners of the ÖVP, they were asked by the club officers Christof Bitschi (FPÖ), Manuela Auer (SPÖ) and Sabine Scheffknecht (NEOS) to support the motion of no confidence.
