It was a historic win for Eintracht Frankfurt at the Nou Camp in Barcelona. Oliver Glasner’s team won 3-2 and thus secured a place in the semi-finals of the Europa League. Last Thursday will undoubtedly go down in the history of Frankfurt as a great moment. Martin Fenin, former Eintracht Frankfurt striker, was also there. The Czech (35) and his wife were up close at the Barcelona game and witnessed Frankfurt’s triumph. But after the game, Fenin and his wife were beaten, as he himself wrote on Instagram and Facebook.
A European Cup evening turned into a nightmare for former Eintracht Frankfurt striker Martin Fenin. He witnessed Eintracht Frankfurt’s historic 3-2 win over Barcelona last Thursday. However, after the game, Fenin and his wife were beaten by Barcelona fans.
Martin Fenin shared the brutal video. Several Barcelona fans go for the former striker and kick him. The ex-Frankfurter lies on the ground and holds his hands protectively in front of his face. But that was not the end of the horror evening. Then both Fenin and his wife had to spend 36 hours in a police station: “Without help, without eating, without drinking, madness.” Fenin played for Eintracht Frankfurt from 2008 – 2011.
The former Czech national player described the incident to the Czech portal “sport.cz”: “We just wanted to go to the hotel after the game because we were tired. I had a Frankfurt scarf, my wife a jersey. We shouldn’t have done that. The Frankfurt fans were in the majority all day. Everyone there knows me. If something happened there, many fans would have protected me. So we were on our own.”
