What a blow that the Ukrainian armed forces have now managed: the radio messages that have now been evaluated over the past two hours from the missile cruiser “Moskva” leave no doubt that this flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet has sunk.
According to Russian sources, all 610 crew members managed to escape. A claim that will have to be verified in light of the large explosions.
The latest details from the evaluation of the radio messages also lead to the conclusion that many Russian sailors lost their lives:
Thursday, 1 a.m.: The Russian Defense Ministry confirms a “fire” as a result of a munitions explosion aboard the “Moskva”.
1.05: The International Maritime Forum intercepts an SOS signal from the “Moskva”.
1:14 a.m.: According to radio messages, the missile cruiser turns to the port side, further explosions are reported.
1.47 a.m .: The machines are totally out.
2.07 a.m .: After evaluating reconnaissance data, Turkey reports that the “Moskva” could sink “99.99%” in the coming hour. 54 sailors are rescued by a Turkish ship. What became of the other 500 crew members is not known.
2:48 a.m.: Turkish and Romanian authorities learn that the guided missile cruiser has sunk.
The “Moskva” was the flagship of the Russian fleet in the Black Sea: 187 meters long, heavily armed with various types of guided missiles and machine guns. The missile cruiser reached a top speed of 60 km/h and was also used on international missions, for example in the Mediterranean.
Wild rumors are already circulating on social media platforms about the destruction of the “Moskva”: Russia-friendly users believe that the Ukrainians only achieved this success with the help of Western nations. And one user writes that he would not be surprised “if a US Navy SEAL team was involved in this operation”.
