Russian kart driver Artyom Severyukhin raced to victory in Portimao, Portugal on Sunday. But then he gave a Hitler salute on the podium and caused a real scandal. The driver is not allowed to compete for Russia. Instead, due to the sanctions, he is flying the Italian flag. He beamed on the podium at the award ceremony. When the national anthem was played, he first tapped his chest twice. Then he stretched out his right hand in the Hitler salute.
After this action he also laughed. It is not yet clear whether there will be consequences for the Russians after this action.
