While the mothers and other relatives can catch their breath, volunteers look after the little ones, who have often been away for days. “Superheroes” and “fairy tale characters” are not only active on the Wutzler, they also make children laugh again. Language barriers are irrelevant.
You can also paint, with some pictures telling their own stories: planes dropping bombs are evidence of the events of the war. As well as the children’s games, there is also food for pets, many of which have been taken all the way.
The reception center on Engerthstraße opened on March 3rd and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is maintained jointly by the City of Vienna, the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund, Caritas and Volkshilfe.
