The T-64BV tank was hit by an unidentified shell. The explosion that followed not only ripped the tank apart – no, the tower was thrown up into a neighboring residential building by the violent pressure wave. Fortunately, according to Ukrainian reports, I did not find anyone else in the house.
According to experts, such a hit is unique in history. At the same time, it shows that the former Soviet tank type, despite several modernizations, is not adapted to the conditions of modern warfare.
Only last May, Ukraine announced the modernization of its armored weapon, which had been underway since 2017. While 720 specimens existed in the peacetime strength, Russia still has thousands.
