Every millimeter of her body is covered with a thick layer of dust, she can hardly see, speak, breathe – and yet she is alive: After a devastating air raid on a residential building in Rubizhne in Luhansk, Ukraine, in which the building was completely leveled and a civilian was killed, a small miracle occurred – a woman, although buried alive under the rubble without exaggeration, was recovered alive from tons of rubble and ash.
On Wednesday, Ukrainian emergency services shared incredible photos of the rescue operation after Tuesday’s attack on Ukraine’s eighth largest city. When you look at the pictures of the absolute destruction, it really seems like a miracle that the woman could have survived – in the pictures, which show her completely buried, she looks more dead than alive, and yet she couldn’t just draw attention to herself make, but also be successfully rescued.
Several helpers worked tirelessly to rescue the woman in the afternoon and bring her to safety. After her rescue, rescue workers carried the woman straight to an ambulance, which took her to the nearest hospital, where she is currently being treated while Luhansk remains under the bombardment of Russian troops.
