Great sadness for Manuel Pescollderungg. The former ski professional from South Tyrol died at the age of 41 in the San Maurizio hospital in Bolzano. The former slalom specialist was diagnosed with an insidious lightning disease. Local media reports. Pescollderungg never scored points in the 2004 and 2007 Slalom World Cup. It went better in the European Cup. There, the South Tyrolean was often among the top ten runners. At the Winter Universiade in 2009 he won silver in the slalom. However, Pescollderungg was denied a great career.
After his active career he became a ski instructor in Val Badia. Italy’s vice world champion from 1997 Lara Magoni also mourned on social media. “It is unbelievable that an athlete and a sportsman like him could be hit by such a tragic fate, leaving a huge void in the Italian winter sports world, mountains and snow!” He leaves behind a wife and two daughters together. The younger daughter is only one month old, the older three years.
