Anonymous have announced another coup in the course of their ongoing “cyber war” against Russia: After the well-known hacker group had hacked a number of Russian government organizations, Anonymous now reported that they had gained access to the servers of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The hackers leaked 15GB of data stolen from the charity wing of the Russian Orthodox Church and released about 57,500 emails through the Distributed Denial of Secrets (DDoSecrets) website. Due to the nature of the data, they are currently only offered to journalists and researchers, the hackers said.
In addition, Anonymous announced that they had hacked the base of Russia’s Lipetsk Mechanical Plant – 25GB of data was leaked online. Lipetsk manufactures components for anti-aircraft missile systems and other military equipment.
Earlier in the week, hackers gained access to servers of the All-Russia State Television and Radio Company (VGTRK).
