The last ski race of the season came to a bitter end for ÖSV talents Lukas Feurstein and Vanessa Nußbaumer. The two future hopes of the Austrian Ski Association were injured during the German Ski Championships in Seefeld in Tirol. They even had to be taken to the hospital. Nußbaumer hit his shoulder after falling in the Super-G. She gave an update to the Krone: “I was so upset that I suffered a level two joint blast in my left shoulder,” said the army athlete. But she doesn’t have to undergo an operation: “Fortunately, the injury only has to be operated on from stage three.”
Nußbaumer also spoke up on Instagram: “That was definitely not the end of the season that we wanted. But that’s part of it,” wrote the ÖSV athlete and is already combative: “Now it’s time for a short break before the new season starts.”
Feuerstein dislocated his right shoulder at the German giant slalom championships in Seefeld. “The tapes are offended, but thankfully nothing more happened,” said Feuerstein. The ÖSV runner is now also taking a break before he starts indoor basic training in a few weeks.
