The head of the Ukrainian secret service is certain: Russia now wants to split Ukraine in two. Plan A had previously failed. He intended to take over the entire country and install a pro-Kremlin government.
Now follow plan B: According to this, Vladimir Putin wants to create at least one region controlled by the Moscow government, says intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov: “In fact, this is an attempt to create a North and South Korea in Ukraine.”
The Russian Defense Ministry recently announced that the army controls 93 percent of the Luhansk district and 54 percent of the also partly breakaway Donetsk district in eastern Ukraine.
“The main goal of the first phase of the operation has been achieved,” said Sergei Rudskoy of the Russian high command. The Ukrainian forces have been weakened to such an extent that the focus can now be on liberating the Donbass region.
According to the head of the Ukrainian secret service, Russia did not take into account the Ukrainians’ willingness to resist. He was quoted as saying by the Reuters news agency that Ukraine would soon start a guerrilla war in the Russian-occupied territories, according to his forecast.
