We have DDr. Christian Fiala, general practitioner and specialist in gynecology
met at the “Europe for Freedom” rally on February 27, 2022 in Vienna.
In an interview, he told us why he shows his face, why resistance is so important now and what upheaval is needed in the medical association.
An interview by Edith Brötzner
The doctor remembers a saying from his youth: “If you don’t fight back, you live wrong.” He would never have thought that he would actually have to live this wise saying again towards the end of his professional career. In view of what the governments in Austria and worldwide are doing with the people, the For him, resistance was the order of the day. Against all reason, the division of society and the destruction of people’s economic existence have been consistently pushed forward for two years. Fiala also sees the psyche and health of the citizens in great danger. He cannot and does not want to leave things that way. He wants a return to real democracy, where power rests with the people. Instead of continuing to put up with everything, it is high time to get actively involved, to stand up for the values of democracy and to take the helm back into our own hands. If we don’t take action now, this madness threatens to continue. Until the country and the people are finally broken.
Medical Association President endangers people with his actions!
During our conversation (before the medical association elections), Fiala, who ran for the MFG list, emphasizes how important a change in the medical association is now. After all, this not only represents the interests of doctors, but also sets important standards that affect us all. What we have seen and experienced from the President of the Medical Association in the last few months – the intimidation of doctors and the questionable guidelines on how the doctors should administer medicine – is potentially hazardous to human health. This does not only concern the doctors, but affects all citizens equally. Because we have to assume and be able to rely on the doctors treating us individually to the best of their knowledge and belief – depending on what we need. This is not always the case at the moment because the President of the Medical Association restricts the individual freedom of choice of doctor and patient and only allows certain specifications to apply.
“The dance around the golden virus must end.”
Physicians who resist the specified treatment steps face disciplinary consequences – regardless of whether this is for the benefit of the patient. “It hasn’t happened since World War II and it’s something that’s really extremely threatening,” Fiala said. “Not only for the doctors, but also for the patients.” With the MFG list, which has started in four federal states, the doctor is aiming for an important change in the medical association: “The medical association must once again act in the interests of doctors and patients.” In his eyes, there are still many necessary changes. The basic political orientation must again be to represent the interests of the doctors – in the service and in the interest of the doctors – and not the other way around. Evidence-based, reason-based and fact-based medical action must be the focus again. And because medicine is much more than a virus, there needs to be an end to the dance around the “golden virus” that is currently taking place. People and their needs must be brought back to the fore.
After the medical association election: what happens next?
Editor’s note: After the medical association election, we at DDr. Christian Fiala and lawyer Dr. Michael Brunner asked how things will continue and what the next goals are. The next step is to review the scandalous real estate deal. Hard times are also coming to Szekeres. It remains to be seen whether his questionable dissertation will stand up to the disciplinary authorities. Fiala sees the extensive media coverage of the medical association election as a special signal. This shows that something is really moving in the population and in the medical association and critics can no longer be dismissed as cranks.
