The fact that the elegant lady and her pretty daughter, with their own driver and large suitcases, had nothing to declare, was something that the customs officials in Hungary didn’t quite want to believe – just as they didn’t want to believe their eyes when they discovered the enormous amount of cash , which the politician’s wife carried with her.
After the money was counted and the identity of the “smuggler” was clarified, one question still remains unanswered: where does the stately fortune come from? The suspicion points to her husband’s business dealings – which may not be entirely clean. Kotvitsky is well known in Ukraine not only as a former politician but also as a businessman, and the rumor mill on the internet is already cooking up a salty soup of speculation: Many suspect that Kotvitsky could be involved in bribes during his time as a politician…
Now Ihor Kotvitsky himself has spoken out about the smuggling of millions. He doesn’t want to know anything about all that money. He claims his wife just wanted to cross the border to give birth to their child, the Daily Mail reports. “All my money is in Ukrainian banks, I haven’t withdrawn anything,” said the Ukrainian politician.
Kotvitsky’s daughter Violetta (24), who went to school in Switzerland, is also defending her rich parents. Taking to social media, she claims the story must be “fake and a rumour”. Anastasia Kotvitska, who was traveling with two Hungarian men and her mother at the border crossing, has not yet commented on the incident.
