There was nothing to reap in the last giant slalom of this World Cup in Meribel (France) for the ÖSV women. Best Austrian was Katharina Truppe in 13th place (+1.40). In the discipline rating, too, Truppe is the best Austrian in tenth place. “I would not have thought that the giant slalom would work out like this this year,” said the Carinthian. “It’s a huge step forward. I really can’t complain in giant slalom.”
As the second best ÖSV lady, Stephanie Brunner came in 17th (+2.04). Katharina Liensberger (19th / +2.22) and Ramona Siebenhofer (20th / +2.58) just made it into the top 20. Madeleine Egger finished 22nd. Ricarda Haaser fell in the second run. The Italians celebrate a double victory. Tessa Worley secured the giant slalom ball. In the end, the French finished fourth (+0.45). Half-time leader Mikaela Shiffrin ended up only in seventh place (+0.67).
