It was the last descent of the season. Mikaela Shiffrin was able to get the first win of the season in this discipline in Courchevel/Mericbel. Today, Wednesday, Shiffrin with start number 21 was 0.10 seconds faster than Christine Scheyer from Vorarlberg and Joana Hählen from Switzerland, who ended up on the podium ex aequo. As in the previous year, Sofia Goggia was able to secure the small crystal globe with 12th place. The Italian wins the ball for the third time in total. Olympic champion Corinne Suter (19th) from Switzerland was left behind.
The best Austrian in the downhill classification is Ramona Siebenhofer, who finished fourth in the discipline ahead of Mirjam Puchner. At the end of the season, Siebenhofer finished 13th, the other ÖSV starters did not score points. Things are looking even better for Shiffrin in the overall World Cup. She is 156 points ahead of her rival Petra Vlhova from Slovakia.
