The Russian Defense Ministry has announced further attacks against suspected whereabouts of foreign fighters in Ukraine. “We know all the locations of foreign mercenaries in Ukraine. Targeted attacks will continue to be carried out against them,” said ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov on Monday evening, according to a statement. “A number of Western countries encourage, at the state level, the participation of their citizens as mercenaries of Ukraine in hostilities against Russian troops,” Konashenkov claimed.
The Russian invasion of Ukraine, in the course of the massive global wave of solidarity, has also mobilized many volunteers from different countries who want to oppose the Ukrainian troops in resistance against Putin’s army (the eXXpress reported). Among them are not only experienced soldiers, but also men with basic military training who have taken a completely different career path – a Latvian MP, Juris Jurass, recently made headlines when he resigned his mandate and joined the Ukrainian freedom fighters out of moral conviction connected.
