Applications rejected: ex-minister Sophie Karmasin remains in custody

The judge responsible decided “that pre-trial detention cannot be substituted for more lenient means”. The reason for detention of the risk of committing a crime thus remains in force. Formally, the next detention review date would be April 14th. However, Karmasin’s legal representatives have the opportunity to appeal against the decision of the regional court, which the Higher Regional Court (OLG) Vienna would then have to deal with in a timely manner.
