A somewhat irritating posting by Fridays for Future (FFF) is making the rounds on Twitter and Instagram again: The environmental activists are currently not concerned about climate change, but about FINTA – with this acronym women, as well as inter-, non-binary and trans- Persons, as well as people who experience themselves without gender identity.
According to the FFF experts from Germany, this FINTA group is particularly disadvantaged “in the event of extreme weather events”. In the event of a flood, for example, women and transsexuals would have “poorer access to early warning systems”. Because: “Mobile phones often only belong to the male ‘head of the family’).
And in the post there is a bold, because not really scientifically proven statement by the Fridays for Future activists: According to the FFF, the people in the FINTA group, including women and transsexuals, could “swim less often” and would therefore also be “ much more likely victims of extreme weather events”.
The mobile phone statement alone would be a bit unworldly (most modern and self-confident women use a smartphone), the “expertise” on the lack of swimming skills of women and transgender people will certainly not want to be left as it is.
